Chris Renwick
General Director
Lloyd's Register Kazakhstan LLP
Currently General Director Lloyd's Register Kazakhstan LLP and International Development manager for Caspian and Russia for Lloyd’s Register EMEA; Chris Renwick is a Chartered Marine Engineer and he also holds an MBA from Henley Management College.
Responsible for developing business primarily in the oil and gas sector his initial task has been to establish the local Kazakhstan company as the foundation for building a strong local business in Kazakhstan. In parallel he has also been responsible for establishing a new technical centre in the UAE to support the regional business.
Prior to his current role he was Manager of the Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) for Lloyd's Register EMEA based in Aberdeen. Responsible for managing and developing this group a key part of the organisation’s centre of technical excellence for the oil, gas and offshore markets.
He has some 30 years of industry experience. He started as a marine engineer with Shell Tankers, after qualifying as a Chartered Engineer he transferred to Shell UK commercial markets where he became technical manager for marine fuels and lubricants with responsibility for product quality and service development.
After completing an MBA he moved on to join the Lloyd’s Register Group where he has worked in a variety of roles – in business development, as Corporate Planning Manager and Regional Business Development Manager, Middle East and Africa prior to his previous role as Manager of the Engineering and Technology Group in Aberdeen.
